What the scout system does

  • Customers order online in a couple of minutes: pick a size, then choose delivery or pickup from the hall.
  • The order page explains the delivery area, with a map showing where it reaches.
  • Volunteers get run sheets and a delivery map for each shift, plus print-ready tags for every tree.
  • A roster shows who's on, and a short checklist covers what each shift needs to know.
  • Walk-up sales come in live from Square and sit next to the online orders, with the stock that's left on the same dashboard.
  • Reports show season totals and trends, and past customers, feedback and email settings sit in the same place.

Replacement drainage grates for an owners corporation

The old grates had rusted through. I measured them, made the replacements in the workshop and fitted them. Sometimes the fix is software. Sometimes it's steel.

How the grates job ran

  • I measured the existing grates where they sat, rusted through.
  • I made the replacements in the workshop to those measurements.
  • Then I fitted them in place.

My own build · the engine for the Ideas Network

The platform behind the Ideas Network

This is the platform the Ideas Network will run on. A customer describes a job, and it moves through quoting, optional on-site measurement, design review, production, assembly and shipping. I built the backend: the quoting, the payments, maker payouts, the admin tools and the messaging.

What the platform does

  • Customers describe a project and it moves through quoting, optional on-site measurement, design review, production, assembly and shipping.
  • AI-assisted quoting prices the work, and the admin side can check and verify each quote.
  • Stripe takes the payment. The platform fee is added on top of the maker's quote and paid by the customer.
  • Makers are paid out through Stripe Connect into their own accounts.
  • Admin tools run the maker network, support tickets, project chats and the clients' accounts.
  • Team messaging keeps each project's conversation in one place.

What these have in common

Each started as a job someone was doing by hand, or a part that didn't exist. Each ended as something that works, handed over to the people who use it.

That's the same shape as The Two-Week Fix: find the leak, show a working sample, then build the real thing.
