The Ideas Network connects people who have an idea with the designers and makers who can build it. It isn't live yet: it switches on in Melbourne once the founding bench is full, and I'm looking for the people to fill it.

  1. The idea

    Someone has an idea for a product, a part or a fix.

  2. The designer

    A product or CAD designer turns it into something that can be made.

  3. The maker

    A machine shop, fabricator, 3D printer or electronics maker builds it.

  4. In their hands

    The finished thing goes back to the person who dreamed it up.

Who I need

Four kinds of people make the network work. If you're one of them and you're in Melbourne, there's a seat on the founding bench.

  • Product and CAD designers

    Turn rough ideas and sketches into designs that can actually be made.

  • Machine shops and fabricators

    CNC, laser cutting, welding and sheet metal: parts and assemblies.

  • 3D printing services

    Prototypes, one-offs and short runs.

  • Electronics makers

    PCBs, wiring and embedded builds.

Quote the job your way, and you're paid your full quote. Neutrino's fee is added on top for the customer.

There's no joining fee and no listing fee. You only take the jobs you say yes to.

The founding bench is 5 designers and 10 makers. The network opens to ideas once both are full. Until then it isn't taking ideas or jobs.

Questions from makers

Is there a cost to join?
No. There's no joining fee or listing fee, and you only take the jobs you want.
How do I get paid?
You're paid your full quote, through Stripe into your own account. Neutrino's fee is charged to the customer on top.
Who owns what I design or make?
The customer who pays for it. Under the Creator Participant Agreement, the IP passes to the customer on payment, not to Neutrino. Creator Participant Agreement
Do I have to be in Melbourne?
For the launch, yes. Melbourne first, so parts can move quickly between designers, makers and the people who ordered them.
